MOVING TO KYRGYZSTAN

IMPORT REGULATIONS ON HOUSEHOLD GOODS AND PERSONAL EFFECT SHIPMENTS

HUMANITARIAN CARGO

1. Letter from sending and receiving organization that this is humanitarian aid.
2. Confirmation letter from Department for the Attraction of Humanitarian Aid (Kyrgyz Gov’t Office)
3. AWB/Customs paper work must state the cargo is Humanitarian Aid

DIPLOMATIC/MILITARY CARGO

1. Letter from both sending and receiving organization stating the contents, weight of cargo and date of sending
2. Must fill out form T6-Kyrgyz Document

TEMPORARY IMPORT OF HHG

1. Declaration of the value of the goods
2. Detailed Packing list
3. Letter from the organization (registered in Kyrgyzstan) that employees the person asking for temp import
4. All normal Cargo Documents
5. Consumable goods can be brought in if the value of the goods is less then $500 and less then 50kg. If your contract indicates you will be in Kyrgyzstan for more then 6 months you may import goods up to $1000 in value.
6. At time of importation, Customs will indicate the length of time you will be allowed to keep your goods in the country based on your contract.
7. Duty is charged at 3% per month of 130% of the declared value of the goods.  This charge does not apply to Diplomat and Humanitarian HHGs.

RAIL IMPORT

1. Railway Bill
2. Letter indicating the owner of the contents
3. Normal cargo documentation
4. Power of Attorney

**Additional requirements can be requested for Animals/Dangerous Goods

These would include a document from Ministry of Health for Animals and if Dangerous Goods a letter from the importer stating that these are not radioactive goods, this must be stamped by Kyrgyz Internal Affairs Office.

RAIL EXPORT

1. Permission letter from government (UKZD) to export cargo
2. Cargo receives code from the UKZD
3. Normal Cargo documentation
4. Power of Attorney

TRUCK IMPORT/EXPORT

1. TIR Carnet
2. SMR
3. Driver’s documentation/license/passport/truckpapers/etc
4. Normal Cargo Documentation
5. Power of Attorney

IMPORT/EXPORT AIR CARGO

1. Customs clearance request letter to Customs Office
2. AWB
3. Commercial Invoice + translation
4. Packing list
5. Certificate of origin of cargo-Receipt or Document showing where cargo was purchased
6. Certificate from Kyrgyzstan office of Standards that the cargo meets Kyrgy standards
7. Contract
8. Letters if do not have original documents and only have photocopies then you must state by letter when you will have the originals
9. Power of Attorney

IMPORT/EXPORT AIR CARGO/PERSONAL BELONGINGS/UNACCOMPANIED

1. Must show passport, if diplomatic then also diplomatic card and accreditation
2. Letter from organization from where you work in Kyrgyz
3. Packing list with translation-declaring the weight
4. Power of Attorney
