Customs Regulations: Application for Privilege must be lodged by appropriate Embassy to British Foreign Office who in turn pass relevant Authority to H.M. Customs

Remarks: Bill of Lading/Waybills should be identified ‘Diplomatic Clearance’. Advise us before arrival that Diplomatic Clearance required.
FIREARMS AND WEAPONS
Required Documents: (1) Proof of ownership (2) Export license from Dept. of Trade (3) Valid firearm certificate issued to the owner by the police authorities controlling the area in which client intends to reside.

HOUSEHOLD GOODS AND PERSONAL EFFECTS
Required Documents: UK Customs Form C.3 Bill of Lading/Waybill Clear Inventory of Household goods (in English)
Customs Regulations: Used household goods are allowed into UK. Duty free if they have been in the owner’s possession and used for at least 6 months and are for owner’s continued use and not for resale.
Clearance: 4 to 5 days. Customer presence required for clearance? No
Remarks: Customs C3 may be completed abroad but must be available prior to arrival of goods (along with clear inventory). Goods must arrive within 12 months of arrival of client.
NEW FURNITURE
Required Documents: (1) Purchase Invoice (2) Sales Invoice clearly identifying items price paid with date and place of purchase
Customs Regulations: Items purchased within 6 months are subject to Customs Duties and VAT. They should be shown separately on Customs Form C.3

PETS AND ANIMALS
Required Documents: Proof of inoculation from registered vet.
Customs Regulations: Subject to 6 months quarantine in licensed premises
Clearance: Usually quarantine period. Customer presence required for clearance? Yes
Remarks: Check with UK Customs and Dept. of Agriculture before shipping – especially for rare or endangered species. Import license is granted after the shipper has made arrangements for the period of quarantine with licensed kennels.
VEHICLES
Required Documents: (1) Customs Form C104 A (2) Proof of ownership i.e. Ins. Cert, Registration Card (3) Original Purchase Invoice
Customs Regulations:
Clearance: 7 to 8 days. Customer presence required for clearance? May be required.
Remarks: May be imported duty-free provided the vehicle will not be sold or otherwise disposed of for 1 year after the date of importation. Importer must have lived outside the U.K. for at least twelve (12) months prior to importing the auto. They also must have owned the vehicle for at least six (6) months.
